We are a dedicated gluten-free, vegan, and allergen-free bakery, committed to bringing you the most delicious and wholesome pastries, breads, and desserts that you won't believe are good for you!

Our Story

Marci was an early comer and a late bloomer.

She first founded “Marci's Muffins” in 1990. The business was successful from its inception because it wasn't "just" a bakery, but it was a safe haven for people seeking healthy and allergen free baked goods (that's where the "early comer" title came). News articles, interviews, T.V. appearances, and the like, were commonplace because the concept of "healthy" baking did not exist before this. Marci, to do this day, jokes about being her own target market! No one had healthy baking and she wanted muffins with fibre and protein, that weren't loaded with empty carbs ands fats. She discerned that she wasn't the only one who, not only wanted this kind of baking for oneself, but also for their families.

If it weren't for the tragic and unexpected loss of a newborn child in 2000, the business would probably be world wide, as Marci had expanded into 3 location and was wholesaling to shops, and hospitals across Canada in the early 90's. Marci also started an online shop (back then), so she could ship to individuals who couldn't reach the shops that her business sold to.

Marci's mission has always been to acknowledge and provide for people who cannot have mainstream baking and therefore all of of her baking is free from Canada's top food allergens.

Marci took about a decade away from the business after having her 4th child. (This is the "late bloomer" part). She still baked for people but not on such a grand scale. In 2010 she began working on a larger vision again and launched Marci's Bakery in 2012. Success ensued and many followers jumped aboard. Muffins, cupcakes, cookies, cakes, brownies, cookies, bread, buns, bagels, bake mixes and much more were in demand both at her retail locations, at health food shops and hospitals that carried Marci's products, and online sales across the U.S. and Canada grew rapidly.

By 2017, Marci's kids were having babies and life got busier than most could imagine. With a massive heart for her kids and grandkids, Marci started looking for ways to scale back so she could have more time with her family. One of Marci's grandchildren was born with a rare disease. She required around the clock care. Marci deeply desired to help more and the business was also becoming overwhelming with Covid complications, and expenses going through the roof. 

In Jan 2023 Marci decided to "sell" the business with the hope of staying on as a consultant and baker. Sadly, in July 2023 Marci's grand daughter passed. In Sept 2023, by the grace of God, a wonderful young man (Aaron Allison), approached Marci with an offer to come on board and work with Marci to take the burden from her and to build something even more beautiful. 

While still baking orders and staying relatable through social media, we have been working for a few years, mulling over and developing concepts and discussing business models to serve as many as we can to share this beautiful business's baking with the world. Our story is still being written, with love, joy, wisdom, and a heart for people. Thank you for coming along with us and helping us restore, rebuild, recreate, rebrand, and rejoice through it all.
